Substack asks you for feedback when you become a paid subscriber of this publication. I came across it by accident the other day and it was informative, inspiring and sometimes amusing so I thought I would share a small selection of your answers to being asked why you subscribed:
"Before 2020 I was about as woke as woke could be, and I found you and Francis around the time I started feeling "mugged by reality". Of the various content creators I follow, I have found your approach, humor, wisdom, and integrity inspiring. As I watch the woke and anti-woke double down on creative ways to destroy civilized society, figures like you help give reason for cautious optimism." - Greg
"I am immigrant from Poland nearing 50yo. I do remember well the communism and the immediate aftermath. I migrated to UK searching for better life. I was in love with this country, so many opportunities, freedom, wealth! But after almost 20 years here I am looking around with disbelief at what is becoming of this place... Voices like yours I hope will be heard and listened to!" - Tom
“KK: I think I unsubscribed a while back but over the holidays was evaluating paid vs. unpaid subs as I have stacked up a pretty decent monthly Substack bill. And in looking at who I read the most and value, and that includes “how” the written word comes over, your posts rise to the top and move the discussion “forward” and force either deep introspection or action. Thank you”. - Stan
"Thank you for your talk at Cambridge (sic). Your common sense was refreshing." - Don
"I added my support because I respect your way of thinking, enjoy your humour, and believe that (particularly in these troubled times) supporting independent media is important. And as your parents went to the trouble of sending you to a capitalist country, you may as well benefit from that system! " - Peter
"I think your writing will change my mind." - Halle
”I believe you have a presence online and speak the things I would choose to say if I had access to the platforms you enkoy. Thank you for promoting a balanced and life-affirming message to a dark, distorted world”. - Mary
“To keep my sanity!” - Lisa
“Just discovered you recently after Oct 7th and love the content and discourse. I’m now a follower of Triggernometry too. Hilarious. Thank you! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!” - Jen
"I've been listening to you on YouTube for a few years now and I liked your balanced view of things in the beginning. You had people from both ends of the spectrum on your podcast and I like to hear both sides of any issue so I can make informed decisions about what I think of an issue. I am glad you're writing on Substack, I prefer reading." - Kathie
"You speak from experience, you’re not an academic elite, you speak plainly and concisely and I’m inclined to trust you." - Ann
"You are one of very few sensible voices in this crazy world, making reasoned, rational arguments and actually demonstrating critical thinking. Can't help but think we wouldn't in so much shit these days if our leaders were to take note and act accordingly. Come and stand as an independent candidate in Broxtowe. I'd vote for you. Help us!!!" - Cath
"I'm an old American and from that vantage point I say these are indeed the times that "try men's souls". We've never faced a juncture as dangerous as the one we now face and I believe KK is a voice we need to bring clarity in this extremely dangerous fog we're currently stumbling through." - Greg
"I like to hear alternative & questioning points of view that differ from the mainstream. Though I don’t agree with everything you say, I thoroughly enjoy your Substack and interviews" - Maik
Having lived in California my entire life, traveled only to Mexico and Canada briefly, my world view is confined to media. My age and current responsibilities make it unlikely that will change. Therefore I seek out voices that give me insights to other cultural and societal perspectives. I no longer have the time to delve as I once did so I have been forced to refine my reading and viewing choices. You are on the permanent list due to your depth of knowledge and rational reasoning. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You had me at "worshipping at the feet of Saint Greta of Climate Change." I stayed because you continue to speak up for what is good and decent, and to expose what is not.
