Over the last several days, there have been a number of outbreaks of violence in towns and cities up and down Britain, including Liverpool, Stoke, Bristol, Blackpool, Nottingham, Hull, Mancester and Leeds.
These incidents first started on Tuesday after a number of children were stabbed, 3 fatally, at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event.
Since then, groups of violent anti-immigration protestors have attacked shops, mosques and the police around the country in ugly scenes.
There is much that could be said about what is happening and much we do not yet know. As usual, public commentary on this issue revolves around name-calling, apportioning blame and doing everything possible to avoid discussing the underlying factors which have brought us here.
Against this backdrop, I keep being asked why I haven’t commented on what is happening. And the reason, as my readers know, is that I already have. Months ago.
In May, I wrote this article:
In June, I wrote this one:
And this one too:
In all of these pieces, I explained that government policy across the Western world over the last two decades had brought the pot to boiling point. And predicted that instead of turning off the gas and listening to people’s concerns, the reaction from the media and politicians would be to screw the lid on tighter and make things worse. Which they have now done.
What can one do in the face of such reckless stupidity? Of course, anyone with a modicum of sense rejects political violence. People who attack police officers, target random ethnic minorities and loot shops should be arrested, prosecuted and condemned by all right-thinking citizens. But that won’t change anything because the people on Britain’s streets are merely the symptom of a much larger problem.
And so, the reason I haven’t said anything is that there is nothing left to add.
It’s all too predictable now. The time has come to reimagine Hanlon’s Razor. From to “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”, to “Always attribute to malice that which has continued too long to be explained by stupidity.”
Konstantin to me I feel you have always have had a profound ability of forethought, foresight, and forbearance in all the worlds problems. You have an uncanny ability to take the design and patterns of the past and matching them up with the present and predictable future. This is a trait in humans that is very rare. I have agut feeling you have an abundant amount to say on the subject but have the forbearance to know it is not going to change what is to come. I felt this way before when I was very young both side of the parapet has hate and a lot of anger whether justified or not, however, it is there and it is not going to go way. The two tier policing system has always been a thing. Both sides will use this kind of system if they get their hands on it. Once they have the power and support of the institutions then there will be a two teir system that works differently for curtain people. Welcome to the fires of corruption, coercion and chaos. I have stood here before, heck I grew up in it.
