I cannot tell you how excited I am to announce that over the next few weeks I’ll be hosting a written multi-part debate between two of my favourite ever TRIGGERnometry guests: James Orr and Stephen Hicks. This will be followed up with an in-person debate to be filmed later this year.
Dr James Orr is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Religion at the Faculty of Divinity, a position he took up after four years as McDonald Postdoctoral Fellow in Theology, Ethics, and Public Life at Christ Church, Oxford. He holds a PhD and MPhil in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Classics from Balliol College, Oxford. He organised the recent National Conservatism conference in London.
James will be arguing for the conservative position.
Professor Stephen Hicks teaches philosophy at Rockford University, where he is also Executive Director of the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship. He is the author of Nietzsche and the Nazis, Explaining Postmodernism: Skepticism and Socialism from Rousseau to Foucault and co-editor of The Art of Reasoning: Readings for Logical Analysis.
Stephen will be arguing for the liberal position.
Keep an eye out for the opening salvos in this exchange early next week and remember to subscribe so that you don’t miss a word!
