So true. A man voicing an opposing voice to the left blind ideology needed to be ‘taken out’. A tradgedy of a good man who would have defended everyone.
I have the same sense many of you are talking about. I work in New Mexico but my home is in Arizona. I listened to Charlie's radio show when I drove between states. And I hate this, that I am now required to write in the past tense. Charlie Kirk was a good man. And like all of you, I have the same sense that the Rubicon has been crossed. That we are running out of grace. That we are on the edge. Charlie was a man who got people who disagreed with him to ask for a Turning Point USA hat.
I can recall being laughed at 10 years ago, when I pointed out that if we continued down this path there would eventually be a reaction. I agree that this killing seems like a Rubicon. But the first reaction from former President Obama, to the effect that we don't know the "motivation" of the killer, BEFORE condemning the killing makes me wonder: why should motivation matter, unless one is going to demonize Kirk.
I agree with Konstantin. We've gone through a portal or something we didn't know was there. I feel the same way about the murder of Iryna the Ukrainian woman.
I am sickened and angry at Charlie's murder, the pain his wife and young family must be going through must be devastating.
Sadly reading under the line of some of the MSM reports, the insane and gloating comments tell me where we are as a society.
He was an impressive young man, principled, respectful and in an age where people engage in tit for tat online outrage, this young man of the digital age, put some humanity into the public discourse by meeting face to face to have honest and good faith conversations.
There are few things more valuable to a human being than that and he has been murdered for it.
He also had a great sense of humour, self deprecating as well, stating he loved the South Park parody of him. That annoyed his detractors even more.
I suspect Charlie would not want his murder to be used to generate anger, however I think given everything that's been going on in recent years, the MSM eagerness to paint anything to the right of Lenin as fascism, I feel it's far too late to turn the other cheek.
I think it feels like this because he was the face of a real, genuine America, and as open and courageous a man as you could ask for. The fact that he was targeted for that is a sobering revelation. It was similar when Andrew Breitbart died.
This is devastating! I wish that I hadn't seen it. I can't get the sight or sound out of my head. I hope his wife and kids never see it. There are demons in the world. I'm praying for his family and I hope you are wrong about the invisible line, but I fear you're correct. Im disgusted by all the hateful posts on SM. Where are we going to when someone can't say an opinion without the fear of dying. Charlie, you will be missed terribly.
With the progressive left their religion is politics and every election is life or death. Charlie Kirk was one of the biggest voices of their opposition and if they can’t silence him with the media then they will silence him forever. This is where this arc of progress leads….
It’s truly shocking to read tonight of the murder of Charlie Kirk. Did I agree with him about everything? No. Is his murder at all justified? Never never never. A 31 year old husband, father, son has been taken by violence from his family and friends. Our condolences go to them at a terrible time.
The leader of the New Zealand First party here, Winston Peters who is part of the current coalition Government, put out a message on social media this morning.
100+ million killed by the left in the 20th century, but yet the left is always just one more murder away from their utopia. Charlie, RIP. Your legacy of debate, conversation, and faith will continue, despite their unquenchable thirst for violence.
I hope you Konstantin you are wrong but I fear you are not. As an Australian who has been around a bit (make that a lot) assessing the cognitive capacity of the ( very ) average protester here and the almost axiomatic propensity to violence - actual or threatened - is not hard. Cognitive concrete cannot think . But it can get cancerous.
I also have that very uncomfortable sense of foreboding. I, too, hope that I am wrong.

Elon is completely correct, 'The Left is the party of murder'.
Blessed is the righteous judge of the universe.

This has struck a cord internationally.

I haven't prayed in years, closer to decades probably and I that changed today when I first saw he was shot.
We all FEEL it, that today has started the chain of events future history books will write about and that it's not going to be a light read.
I had the same feeling tonight, it was a gut feeling which I then tried to rationalise. My feelings were right, rationalising them was wrong.
9/11 or maybe 7/7 are the only times I remember feeling remotely like this.
Being a father now and seeing his family lose him in this way is hitting me even harder I think.
Charlie shaped a number of my views over the years and I'm devastated. Can't imagine how Americans are feeling.
